WINNER!! 2009 NutGrassRoots Award

This award is presented each year to a community garden that has established an excellent garden through persistent efforts over many years.  These gardens have persevered through innumerable challenges and overcome many obstacles. Through sheer determination and effort they have established themselves as gardens of excellence and sustainability.

 

The award will be presented on November 7th at the Annual Harvest Celebration from 11:30 - 1:30 PM. Toral Sindha, Senior Nutritionist with the City of Houston's Community Nutrition Program will speak on nutrition and gardening. Kay Sandor and Erhard Goerlitz, Community Garden Co-chairs, will be there to accept the award.
